An award-winning store in Ballymoney has raised a huge sum for the Children in Need charity.

McCool’s Supervalu raised a total of £7034, including over £1100 from local Ballymoney businesses.

As part of their fundraising activities, staff held a Pudsey-inspired trolley push from the North Antrim town to Belfast. The team of ten people (pictured) made their way through various towns, raising a significant amount for the charity along the 51 mile stretch, before arriving in Belfast on Friday evening.

It brings the store’s total charity funds for the year to an impressive £19866.

Its manager, Neighbourhood Store Manager of the Year award-winner, Ian Elliot, congratulated staff on helping to raise the sum.

“Well done to everyone involved, you should be really proud of yourselves for all your hard work,” he said.

The news came as the store picked up two trophies at the North Coast & Ballymena Business Awards 2015, which took place on Saturday November 14 at the Galgorm Hotel and Spa Resort.

The shop took home both the Employer of the Year and Manager of the Year awards.
