Thousands of Belfast shoppers will be treated to the ‘best ever toast’ for free on Saturday March 4, as part of a promotional campaign by Kingsmill.

The company’s brand new loaf ‘Kingsmill Super Toasty’  will be launched in Victoria Square, where a team of Kingsmill promotional staff will treat peckish passers-by to free samples of their tasty toast.

The Kingsmill brand is owned by Allied Bakeries who said their ‘Super Toasty’ product has a unique recipe that offers their “best ever toast”, and are even offering a money back offer on the product.

They said the new loaf has been designed specifically to create the perfect slice of toast, being slightly thicker than thick slice toast to deliver the optimum slice – light and crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside.

Allied Bakeries senior brand manager, Elva O’Connor, said: “Toast truly is one of life’s simple pleasures and we’re excited to bring this new loaf to not just the shelves but also straight into to the hands of the public.”

The launch comes as an online poll by Allied Bakeries found almost half of NI shoppers (42%) enjoy toast every day, with 91% consuming the snack weekly. Nearly three quarters (69%) said Kingsmills’ new product would be “right up their street”, with a whopping 82% saying they felt it would be suitable for the whole family, every day.

White bread is still the most popular, with three quarters (75%) saying they buy it regularly and enjoy it toasted.

Super toasty is now on the shelves of major supermarkets and independent retailers with an RRP of £1.25.
