Northern Irish confectionery wholesaler Courtney & Nelson has raised a tasty sum for a charity after running this year’s Belfast Marathon.

The company earned sponsorship from its dedicated runners to raise funds for the new Mencap Children and Families centre in Belfast. It also arranged a series of charitable events, including a poker night and quiz night.

Company director Pamela McWilliams handed over a cheque for £2,300 at the now fully operational centre at School Road, Newtownbreda in May.

She said: “Mencap is a charity very close to all of us in Courtney & Nelson and we would like to thank everyone who supported us. We will continue as a business to support these amazing people helping those with learning disabilities.”
