JTI issue warning over voucher scam

JTI is warning all independent retailers that a tobacco voucher scam may be coming to local stores.

First discovered in mid-March this year, the con leads consumers to believe they have £3 off Benson and Hedges products.

A JTI UK spokesperson confirmed they had not issued the voucher, which is not affiliated in any way to the business.

All retailers have been advised to refuse the voucher and to immediately report the incident to the Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline.

The manufacturer also recommended that any CCTV footage of the attempted use is retained to help any investigation that may be pursued.
