Old Oven Door directors disqualified
Antrim Road

The former directors of an Antrim Road bakery will serve a four year disqualification from company directorships after leaving almost £100,000 of debts.

Gerard Burns, 63, and Maureen Burns, 62, both of Seven Mile Straight in Muckamore, ran the family-owned traditional home bakery, the Old Oven Door, in Belfast. It went into liquidation in July 2014 but continues to trade from the same address.

The pair were said to have drawn remuneration “significantly in excess” of what the company could afford, contributing to or causing the insolvency and resulting in liabilities of £94,400.

The Department of the Economy has accepted 37 disqualification undertakings since April 2016, with three court orders disqualifying directors over the same period.
