Penton Publication’s Supporting ‘Mary’s Race to a Million’

As Northern Ireland’s largest independent publisher and exhibitor Penton Publications extremely happy to announce our support for ‘Mary’s Race to a Million.’

Penton are proud to be supporting a series of events in the final push of ‘Mary’s Race to a Million’ fundraising campaign, which aims to hit its £1m target before Dame Mary Peters’ 80th birthday next year.

Mary’s Race to a Million’ campaign was launched two years ago and has already raised two thirds of its target. As the finish line looms, the Trust has launched a series of events that will culminate in a grand gala ball at Titanic Belfast on May, 31st.

Commenting on the final countdown Dame Mary Peters CH, DBE said:

“To date we have been overwhelmed by the support of the public, businesses and celebrities as we aim to safeguard the future of the charity for decades to come.”

The events Dame Mary will be undertaking include Ziplining across the Lagan on August, 16, Trainers for the Trust in September, Sporting Christmas Lunch on December, 14, Spin-to-a-Million Spinathon on February, 1, Golf and Guitars in April, Mary’s Abseil in May and a Gala Dinner on May, 31.

Dame Mary continued with her positivity regarding the story:

“Northern Ireland really is a hot-bed of young sporting talent performing on a global stage and I’m delighted to say the Mary Peters Trust has assisted many of our sports stars achieve their sporting dreams.”

This is backed up with the extensive list of athletes that the trust has so far helped including; Carl Frampton, Graeme McDowell, Paddy Barnes, Michael Conlan, Kelly Gallagher, Bethany Firth, Michael McKillop and Gold Medal Gymnastic Commonwealth Games 2018 Rhys McClenaghan.

These events not only help raise funds for an amazing cause, but instil joy in communities and provide a source of income for local retailers during the events.
