White’s new Oaty Bars are the latest product innovation from Co. Armagh based company, White’s Oats.

High in fibre with no additives, flavourings or preservatives, White’s Oaty Bars are made from just five, all-natural ingredients.

Available now in Tesco, Spar and ViVO stores across Northern Ireland and will be available in Bob & Berts coffee shops in early 2025.

Co. Armagh based White’s Oats, Ireland’s largest oat miller and cereal producer, is entering the ambient on-the-go snack category with a new soft-baked Oaty Bar made from its award-winning, high quality Irish oats.

The new product sees White’s first major launch into the healthy snacking category, catering for the evolving needs of its consumers. Offering a tasty and wholesome snack experience, the bar is ideal for consumers looking for an oats-on-the-go offering.

Speaking on the launch Danielle McBride, Marketing Manager, White’s Oats said: “At White’s we are committed to providing high quality products that deliver on nutrition and taste and suit our customer’s busy lifestyles.

“Our new Oaty Bars are made using all-natural Irish butter and contain over 50% wholegrain oats, making it easier than ever to enjoy a great tasting, naturally energising snack that will leave that hungry feeling fading fast.

“Each bar has only five, all-natural ingredients, with no additives, flavourings or preservatives. It’s the perfect choice for those rushed mornings, as a mid-morning boost or an afternoon pick me up.” Danielle continued.

Available in a 45g Bar, containing 196 calories and over 3g of fibre and protein.

Sold in a single pack, White’s Oaty Bars are available now in Tesco, Spar and ViVO stores across Northern Ireland. They will be launching in Bob & Bert coffee shops early 2025.

Almost 80% of Usdaw members at KP Snacks’ Ashby-de-la Zouch site have voted in favour of strike action, in a dispute over pay.

Following the ballot, which saw 79.52% vote in favour of strike action, on a 73.67% turnout, action will begin in the week beginning 9th December.

It was revealed that the 2024-2025 pay negotiations had failed to reach a satisfactory outcome, with Usdaw area organiser, Ed Leach saying the company’s offer of 6.5% failed to address the narrowing of the gap between the value of the National Living Wage and the consolidated rates of pay at the site.

Following the ballot results, Mr Leach said the overwhelming result clearly demonstrated the strength of feeling among members, and urged management to come back to the negotiating table and avoid disruption to the business ahead of Christmas.

“We regret that the company has flatly refused to increase the offer and we urge them to change their stance,” he added.

Usdaw balloted all members at the Ashby-de-la-Zouch site in Leicester who are employed on Grades B, C, D, D+ and D++ and was conducted by an independent scrutineer.

Co Armagh based business, Kestrel Foods, has worked with Asda to secure listings for seven of its premium Forest Feast range into 580 of the retailer’s stores across the UK.

This follows a recent £2.8 million investment from the snack company, which opened a second site in 2020 to facilitate increased demand for its premium snack range.

Founded in 1996, Kestrel Foods has built a reputation for producing innovative, ethically sourced snack products, including dried fruits, nuts, and chocolate-coated treats.

Asda shoppers will be able to enjoy seven Forest Feast products including Slow Roasted Nuts such as Heather Honey & Sea Salt Cashews & Peanuts, Sea Salt & Black Pepper Nut Mix, and Sea Salt & Vinegar Roasted Nut Mix. They will also be able to enjoy some of the brand’s Chocolate Dipped Fruit range including Dark Chocolate Sour Cherries and Milk Chocolate & Peanut Butter Dates. Additionally, new premium dried fruit lines Preda Fair Trade Mango and Berries & Cherries.

Premium snacking brand, Forest Feast continues to build its presence in the snacking category with the launch of Peppermint Cream Dark Chocolate Almonds.  

The new product takes oven-roasted almonds and coats them in creamy peppermint-infused white chocolate, topped with crunchy sugar crystals, and wrapped in real Belgian dark chocolate.

Bronagh Clarke, Marketing Director at Forest Feast said: “Mint chocolate has seen a real resurgence in the last year and now we have paired this with our oven roasted almond for a unique delicious snack.”

Every batch is carefully handcrafted at the brands manufacturing facility in Co. Armagh.

The Forest Feast brand has grown +35% YOY in the latest 52 weeks through strong gains in consumer penetration and distribution.

The new product launched into Sainsburys on 18th October, Tesco and Morrisons on the 21st October with other outlets to follow. RRSP of £3.75 for 120g.

KP Snacks has announced that Butterkist, the UK’s favourite popcorn brand, has launched an exciting new partnership with Channel 4 across their film programming.

The partnership, which runs until 5th January 2025, brings together the ultimate movie night snack and in-home movie entertainment on one of the UK’s leading television channels.

As part of the partnership, Butterkist will feature prominently across Channel 4’s film premiere programming and video on demand. Four different five second TVC Blips and one 10 second ident cleverly integrate popcorn into various movie genres and scenes.
