Katrina and Cathy, co-owners of Lisburn-based bakery The Daily Apron have proven they have the best ingredients to succeed.

“As the first artisan small batch bakery in Lisburn, we are absolutely thrilled to have won Bakery of the Year at the awards,” said Katrina Collins.

“As an independent female-owned and female team, we are proud of producing award-winning sourdough by Cathy, who is the head baker.”

Judges for the category said The Daily Apron was “crammed full of delights”.

“The offer was sensational – fresh, innovative and beautifully displayed,” they commented.

“Staff were well informed and enthusiastic, serving the volume of customers with ease and efficiency.”

Independently judged by Spotcheck, the awards are judged to exacting standards over a three-month period.

Now in their 26^th year, the Neighbourhood Retailer Awards reward excellence, recognise achievement, raise industry standards and reward entrepreneurial spirit.

“Our motto is ‘cake and kindness’ which is baked into everything we do,” added Katrina.
