Sarah McMillan from Carnbrooke was on stage to collect the award on Friday 20^th October at the Crowne Plaza Belfast and spoke of her delight at the win.

This award recognises the innovators who bring new products and offerings to the market, a key driver of business at a time when customers have plenty of choice and are keen to see something different, which makes them part with their hard-earned money.

Independently judged by Spotcheck, the awards were judged to exacting standards over a three-month period.

Judges in this category noted that Carnbrooke had “developed their products to introduce them to market in an innovative and successful way”.

They added: “They have enjoyed significant success as a result of the carefully planned and executed campaign.”

Speaking to NR after collecting the award for its Wagyu Gold range, Sarah McMillan described it as “an amazing achievement” for the whole team.

“There is so much work has went into it in the background and to see it pay off, and to see our customers enjoying it and to see it doing so well is just great,” added Sarah.

The Neighbourhood Retailer Awards reward excellence, recognise achievement, raise industry standards, and reward entrepreneurial spirit and are Northern Ireland’s most prestigious retail awards.

With continued growth in both stores, they are going from strength to strength, witnessing sales growing in both the foodservice and retail sides of the business.

Established in August 2011, Carnbrooke is owned by husband-and-wife team Jason and Jacqueline Hamilton. With a background in butchery and 20 years in the industry, Jason opened his own business, starting with a small factory in Dromara and four staff.

“We currently have two foodhalls and all are supplied from our main site in Lisburn,” said Operations Manager, Cormac Rice.

“Our strong factory, kitchen and retail teams have continued to grow to support the increasing success of both stores, alongside our foodservice customers, which for themselves, have found increasing trade going on from covid,” he added.

This year promises to be an exciting one for Carnbrooke as they expand their range and reach across Northern Ireland, including launching their Wagyu Gold range and also introducing UK Mainland delivery.
