{"id":20804,"date":"2022-04-15T10:40:09","date_gmt":"2022-04-15T10:40:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/neighbourhoodretailer.com\/?p=20804"},"modified":"2022-04-15T10:40:09","modified_gmt":"2022-04-15T10:40:09","slug":"donegal-drinks-firm-mulrines-to-set-up-manufacturing-facility-in-sion-mills","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/neighbourhoodretailer.com\/donegal-drinks-firm-mulrines-to-set-up-manufacturing-facility-in-sion-mills\/","title":{"rendered":"Donegal drinks firm Mulrines to set up manufacturing facility in Sion Mills"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"lancio-maincontent\">\n<div class=\"lancio-text\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-6860209-1\" data-google-query-id=\"CLP4z7HqlfcCFXDc3goddoQIgA\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/29764278\/new_ad_unit_clevercode_0__container__\">Donegal drinks manufacturer Mulrines has confirmed it will develop a manufacturing site in Co Tyrone.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Best known for its range of juices, the Ballybofey-based firm said it will establish a new facility on the site of the historic Herdman&#8217;s Mill in Sion Mills.<\/p>\n<p>The company has been linked to the site for the past two years, but has now confirmed it will expand its manufacturing operation into Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>Mulrines, which has been in business since 1919, first registered a business in Northern Ireland during 2016. In recent months it switched its address to the Herdman&#8217;s site.<\/p>\n<p>The mill, which dates back to the mid-19th century, was once a major centre of the textile industry in the north west, employing around 1,000 people.<\/p>\n<p>It finally closed in 2004 and was later bought by the late Strabane lottery winner Margaret Loughrey.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s understood the Mulrines facility will be developed in the more modern industrial units on the large site.<\/p>\n<p>A statement issued on behalf of the Donegal company&#8217;s chairman Paul Mulrine said: \u201cMulrines are happy to announce the future recruitment for a wide range of roles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am pleased we are developing this manufacturing site in Co Tyrone, building on the success of our Ballybofey factory which remains the key facility of our operations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSion Mills and Tyrone is an area of great potential and its skilled workforce was an important factor in our decision to open a new facility.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alongside its Ballybofey facility, Mulrines also operates a base in Chester, where it produces a range of UHT beverage products for the UK, European and US markets.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Donegal drinks manufacturer Mulrines has confirmed it will develop a manufacturing site in Co Tyrone.
