EUROSPAR is kicking off a sizzling summer of savings and fresh and local food, with a huge £7,000 giveaway for its shoppers.

Launching this week in more than 70 EUROSPAR community supermarkets, the giveaway will see shoppers find value deals throughout their summer food favourites and barbecue specials, all sourced locally from the finest producers, alongside a chance to win one of 70 £100 vouchers to spend in store.

Sara Murphy, Marketing Manager at Henderson Group which owns the brand in Northern Ireland, says they are investing to bring even greater value to shoppers, and ensure they can still enjoy the summer months despite the recent squeezes on income and finances.

Sara said: “It seems like every day there is more financial pressure on homes across Northern Ireland as we experience price rises from every angle. Operating in the heart of local communities, our EUROSPAR community supermarkets offer a huge range of everyday essentials alongside fresh and locally sourced groceries for tonight’s tea and those special occasions.

“We’re committed to ensuring our shoppers have access to choice, unrivaled value and nutritious food that has been produced locally.”

And to help shoppers make the most of the unbeatable value and range in stores, EUROSPAR will give away £7,000 worth of shopping vouchers this month. Shoppers can look out for the ‘Big Red Trolley’ in stores, scan the QR code and enter into the draw for the chance to win one of seventy £100 vouchers.

Sara said: “Our big red trollies will be dotted throughout our aisles for shoppers to spot from 6 June, and there will be chances to win right through month until 26 June.

“There’s a lot to celebrate this summer, our communities will be looking forward to socialising and enjoying alfresco barbecues and picnics as we continue to enjoy our outdoor spaces across Northern Ireland.”

To inspire shoppers even further, the team has created a magazine packed full of ideas for summer eating and ways to make shoppers’ money go further this summer.

The magazine, which can be picked up for free at any EUROSPAR supermarket, shares expert advice, quick and simple recipe ideas using fresh and local products in store for barbeques, breakfasts and summer socials, budget-busting batch cooking plus value-driven deals on essentials, and details on the all-important chance to win a £100 shopping voucher.

SPAR, EUROSPAR, ViVO, ViVOXTRA and ViVO Essentials retailers in Northern Ireland are taking the stress out of the festive preparations as Henderson’s annual 12 Deals of Christmas initiative returns.

This year’s 12-week campaign heralds seven weeks of enhanced double deals for 2021, with a range of giveaways worth £12,000 and will implement a fully integrated marketing campaign to boost footfall and basket spend for its retailers.

A commercial campaign which continues the creative SPAR adopted for its 60th Anniversary in Northern Ireland, will feature ads across TV, on-demand and digital channels, accompanying a series of ‘destress your festive prep’ content to be fed across all SPAR, EUROSPAR and VIVO branded social media over the next three months, in the run up to Christmas.

The group has invested £1.6 million in this year’s 12 Deals of Christmas initiative, which was launched in 2016 as a way for their retailers to increase footfall, basket spend and position their stores as a Christmas shopping destination for consumers.

Sara Murphy, Marketing Manager at Henderson Group, commented: “The weeks and months leading up to Christmas provide a unique opportunity within retailing to harness consumer spending.

“As a result of Covid-19, 2020 saw an increase in savvy shopping behaviour, with basket spend determined by trends in ‘stocking up’ and maximised by promotional and value driven deals. The 12 Deals initiative generated sales of £4.4 million for retailers last year.”

The investment the Group has made in the initiative provides a collective saving for shoppers of up to £45* across festive essentials with all the deals combined.

Sara said: “Realising the opportunity to maximise sales, we have implemented an enhanced 12-week strategy promoting weekly deals at market leading prices across our network of over 500 stores.

“We are using media channels which aim to target a wider shopper profile to further reach consumers and will incentivise shoppers in-store with a weekly giveaway of £500 vouchers worth £5,500 over 11 weeks, with a grand finale cash prize for one lucky shopper of £6,500, just in time for Christmas.”

Each deal will be available, while stocks last, for one week in all participating SPAR, EUROSPAR, VIVO, VIVOXTRA and VIVO Essentials stores and supermarkets across Northern Ireland and revealed weekly exclusively on SPAR and EUROSPAR NI’s social media platforms.
