Brothers invest over £400,000 into new Belfast store

Business partners and brothers, Dale and Aaron Beckett officially opened the doors to their new store this month.

The experienced retailers opened the SPAR Stormont store, which now stands at 1894 sq ft following a three-month refurbishment and over £400,000 investment.

The brothers purchased the former Nisa Summerhill Avenue store and got to work adding a significant extension and carrying out a complete refit of the store. The new business has created eight new jobs for the local area as well as retaining eight team members from the Nisa store.

Dale and Aaron have added SPAR Stormont to their already impressive portfolio of SPAR Ballyrobert, SPAR Lisbane and SPAR Loughbrickland. Dale said they were thrilled to mark the opening of this new store.

“We have put so much time, effort and significant investment into refurbishing the store, increasing the product range and services available, welcoming new local suppliers and creating jobs for the local area,” he said.

The new store carries the latest products and services including a Morelli’s ice cream counter, Barista Bar coffee to go and a range of products from local suppliers including H&J Carnduff, Heatherlea Bakery and McErlain’s. It also has a brand-new free in-store ATM.

“We have already made a positive impact in the community,” added Dale, “making multiple donations to local schools and charities, with plans to continue our support in the new year.

“We’re looking forward to many successful years of SPAR Stormont and can’t wait to see what’s to come for the store.”

Sales and Marketing Director at Henderson Group, Paddy Doody said they were delighted to see Dale and Aaron as the new owners of the store.

“They are dedicated and experienced retailers, owning three other successful SPAR stores, and their investment extends beyond the store itself into the whole community,” he said.
