Shop employee shaken after weekend armed robbery
An armed robbery in County Armagh at the weekend has left a member of staff badly shaken, although thankfully unharmed.
The incident occurred on Saturday 22nd August at a filling station bureau de change in the Monaghan Road area of Middletown.
At approximately 1pm police received a report of an ongoing armed robbery and attended the scene, where they spoke to the employee.
It was reported that a man with a hood up and his face covered had entered the premises shortly beforehand, armed with what is believed to have been a small handgun. He demanded money from the employee and subsequently took a quantity of cash before making off in a blue Volkswagen Passat.
Detective Inspector Griffin said the employee was unharmed, though was obviously shaken by the ordeal.
