Shop worker needed treatment after attack with hammer in robbery
A staff member working in a west Belfast shop required medical treatment for a head wound after he was attacked with a hammer in a robbery.
The incident was reported on Tuesday 8th September following the robbery at a shop on the Falls Road.
It was reported that two men, dressed in dark clothing and one armed with a hammer, entered the shop, near the junction with Lake Glen Drive, shortly before 10am on Tuesday morning.
The men attempted to take the cash register but on finding it empty then assaulted a male working in the shop with the hammer and stole his backpack, before running off in the direction of Milltown Cemetery. The shop worker required medical treatment for a head wound following the incident.
Police enquiries are ongoing to identify the males involved and detectives would ask anyone who witnessed this incident, or who may have captured dash-cam or CCTV footage from the area which could help with their investigation, to call them at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 385 08/09/26.
