All the hard work paid off for the team at Maxol Service Station, Cherryvalley when they took home one of the top prizes at this year’s Neighbourhood Retailer Awards.

The Belfast store was named Neighbourhood Store of the Year (Category 1), an achievement manager Martin McCann described as “fantastic”.

In their comments, judges for this category said the “busy store and forecourt” were “immaculately presented”.

“The store was very well stocked, and staff were cheerful and enthusiastic in their service,” they added.

“I am so proud of our team and delighted all their hard work in creating a dedicated community hub has been honoured with this award,” said Martin.

“To be recognised by our industry peers is a fantastic feeling.”

Independently judged by Spotcheck, the awards are judged to exacting standards over a three-month period.

Now in their 26th year, the Neighbourhood Retailer Awards reward excellence, recognise achievement, raise industry standards and reward entrepreneurial spirit.

Martin added: “We will continue to work hard to meet and exceed our customer expectations.”
