New account customer Chandan Solaki is delighted with the service, he tells NR

Chandan Solaki owns a Costcutter on Belfast’s busy Newtownards Road. He has been delighted with his experience as a Bobby’s customer – and with his new metal display stand.

Spencer Macklin, Bobby’s National Sales Development Manager, recently sat down with Chandan Solaki who owns a Costcutter store in Belfast on Newtownards Road to find out about his experience as a Bobby’s customer.

Metal Sweet Stand

What influenced you to begin supplying Bobby’s products in your store? Bobby’s were awarded ‘2018 DTS Food & Non Food Supplier of the Year’ and ‘2019 Most Innovative Supplier of the Year’ from Costcutter, did this impact your decision?

“One of my friends is being supplied by Bobby’s and when I saw the metal sweet stand in his store, I instantly wanted one for each of my stores, and yes, I was aware of the awards you won with Costcutter” said Chandan. Spencer Macklin asked “When thinking about the different ranges we offer (cake, confectionery & snacks) where do you see more of your sales coming from?”

Sweets and cakes

“Sweets” answered Chandan. “We have a lot of kids around us, from this week we will be selling the Biscolata tubs and a selection of cakes from Bobbys as well.”

Spencer then asked Chandan “How would you regard our general service?”

“Really good, we get a visit from the rep every week” he answered.

Spencer Maclin then asked “Have you bought into our new ‘Apex’ service? If so, what do you think about it?”

Merchandised

“I’ve only been dealing with Bobby’s a few weeks. Once the account was set up, the rep came in and set up the sweet stand and merchandised it for me. Then the rep just comes in, tops everything up and shows me the promos for the week.”

What is your Bobby’s favourite product so far?

“The Spin gel has sold well but not far behind is the Trinketto bottles” said Chandan.
