Carlsberg offers free Christmas pints
Carlsberg welcomed people back in to bars and restaurants with a free pint initiative, for consumers getting together responsibly to redeem alongside food.
The pint giveaway is part of the Christmas Cheers campaign, which has been created to deliver a little Christmas spirit through great pints and great laughs, while supporting the hospitality trade that is able to reopen this Christmas.
Alongside the free pint initiative, some of Ireland’s funniest social media stars have joined forces with Carlsberg to share their unique take on Christmas 2020. The social media content series will raise a smile, a glass and a farewell to 2020.
Former Irish rugby player Tommy Bowe jumped in for a cameo with Northern Irish funny man, Shane Todd. He said: “It’s been a difficult year for many so, it’s great to do something positive for people, whether that’s giving them a laugh, even at my expense, or helping support local bars and restaurants through free pints of Carlsberg.”
Colum Campbell, Carlsberg Marketing Manager at Diageo Ireland commented: “We know Christmas is going to feel and look different this year. The idea behind Christmas Cheers is to give people something to smile about while providing much needed support to the hospitality sector as some welcome people back safely and responsibly. So hopefully the simple pleasure of a laugh and a free pint makes a little difference for those that are meeting up safely in bars and restaurants over the Christmas period.”
The Christmas content series will be released in the lead up to Christmas Day and can be viewed on Carlsberg Ireland social media channels @CarlsbergIreland.
