Leading UK snacks manufacturer KP Snacks has announced the appointment of Matt Collins as its new Sales Director. 

Matt has been with KP Snacks for 10 years, most recently as Trading Director across multiple channels. He replaces Andy Riddle who is leaving the business for a new role.

Mark Thorpe, KP Snacks CEO, said: “I am delighted at Matt’s appointment to Sales Director. Matt has a wealth of industry knowledge and a proven track record.

KP Snacks has revealed it is expanding its Nik Naks range with the launch of its popular Rib ‘N’ Saucy variant in a 45g Grab Bag.

Rolling into stores from the end of January, the new launch capitalises on the popularity of Nik Naks as KP Snacks’ fastest-growing brand in 2023 (+47.2%[1] YOY) and number one Everyday Value brand.

The Nik Naks brand appeals to consumers with 86% of shoppers looking for value[2]. As the cost of living remains high, consumers seek out affordable treats from familiar brands and Nik Naks offers a trusted snacking option which creates a sense of nostalgia in shoppers.

The new launch combines the success of Rib ‘N’ Saucy as the second most popular Nik Naks flavour, worth nearly £12m[3] RSV, and the Grab Bag format which continues to perform well within the Convenience and Impulse market. Offering a delicious snack with meaty flavours, the new Nik Naks Grab Bag caters to Food to Go missions which are growing strongly +14.7%[4].

KP Snacks has announced it is expanding its McCoy’s Epic Eats range with the launch of Chip Shop Curry Sauce and Bangin’ BBQ flavours in a £1.25 PMP format.

Delivering on McCoy’s unmistakable bold flavours, the roll-out of the new PMPs follows the success of the McCoy’s Epic Eats Chip Shop Curry Sauce and Bangin’ BBQ multipacks which launched earlier this year.

Available in stores from the beginning of January, the new McCoy’s Epic Eats PMPs are also non-HFSS, with 45% less salt than standard potato crisps on average.

The introduction of the two new SKUs expands the McCoy’s Epic Eats range following its launch in February, while capitalising on the strength of the £1.25 PMP format. £1.25 PMPs are growing +27.8[1]% in the CSN category, driving 61% of Independents’ sales. As trends towards more cautious spending continue, £1.25 PMPs appeal to consumers by offering a trusted price point.

The two new McCoy’s Epic Eats £1.25 PMPs extend KP Snacks’ market-leading £1.25 PMP range which is growing strongly +43.8[2]%. Worth £174.6m, McCoy’s is one of the top five £1.25 PMP ranges, growing +28.9[3]%.

KP Snacks has launched a new media campaign to drive the association of the UK’s number one popcorn brand, Butterkist, with relaxing evening occasions.

Running until the end of the year, the campaign will feature on online video services including Sky, Vevo, and YouTube, as well as across social media platforms.

Designed to engage consumers and capitalise on the strength of evening sharing occasions at home in front of the tv, the new campaign references key entertainment moments from popular shows including I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and Strictly Come Dancing. The campaign encourages shoppers to “Go Grab the Butterkist” to make unmissable entertainment moments more delicious and enjoyable.

Leading the popcorn segment with a 35.9% share[1], nearly twice the size of the nearest branded competitor, Butterkist is the nation’s favourite popcorn, ideal for sharing occasions. The CSN Sharing segment is growing strongly +13.4%[2] and the new campaign maximises on this by spotlighting Butterkist’s 100g sharing bags.

KP Snacks has announced the launch of its biggest ever retailer giveaway with a £70,000 fund to celebrate 70 years of KP, the UK’s number one brand in Nuts.

The £70,000 giveaway offers retailers the chance to win one of 70 £700 cash prizes, plus 160 £70 stock vouchers.

Running for eight weeks from 8th October in the UK and Northern Ireland, retailers will automatically be entered in a prize draw when they range four cases of £1.25 Flavoured Nuts.

Alongside this, KP is donating 10p to Movember for every case sold in November, making up a total donation of £10,000. KP has proudly supported the charity for over four years with a series of different initiatives and campaigns.

Tasty Nuts has been the growth engine of the CSN category over the past year, and KP has been leading the way. Now worth £97m RSV and set to hit £100m by 2024, KP has a 25.6% share of the Nuts segment and is a key driver of category growth[1]. The last year was one of the most successful for the brand, with KP delivering new products for different occasions and tastes, with both format and flavour innovation – contributing to a strong performance of +19.1% YOY[2], growing sales and penetration ahead of the market.
