Conor Boyle steps down as Regional MD for Lidl Northern Ireland
Following a seven-year tenure leading the team at Lidl Northern Ireland, Conor Boyle is leaving the position of Regional Managing Director to become the CEO of Lidl Finland.
He will be succeeded in the role by Ivan Ryan, who was previously the Senior Director of IT and Chief Information Officer at Lidl Ireland.
In a statement on his LinkedIn, Conor Boyle announced his plans to “move on to new pastures” and issued special thanks to his colleagues.
“Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication in helping us achieve unprecedented growth in Northern Ireland, now the fastest growing supermarket in the region,” he said.
“The overwhelming sense of team spirit is so prevalent at Lidl Northern Ireland, and you have made these past seven years the most enjoyable of my career to date.”
Conor also expressed his thanks to his director team – Mark Adair, Gordon Cruikshanks, Chris Speers and Alex Slevin – for their “unwavering commitment to not only making Lidl Northern Ireland a great place to work, but for striving to grow our market share and ensure our customers have an unrivalled shopping experience with us”.
“You are all in very safe hands with my successor, Ivan Ryan and I look forward to following your future successes with interest,” he added.
Conor is set to take up his new role as CEO of Lidl Finland in September.
Meanwhile, Lidl confirmed that Ivan Ryan has been appointed as Regional Managing Director for Lidl NI, taking up the role on 1st August.
“Ivan, who joined Lidl in 2007 and has worked across many areas of the business both locally and internationally, joins Northern Ireland’s fastest-growing supermarket retailer at an exciting time, as it prepares to mark 25 years of growth and success in the region,” said a spokesperson.
Ivan has also held senior positions in HR, Operations and Finance in the business.
