Feel the Force at Food Force Ireland’s second annual online conference

Building on the success of previous years, Food Force Ireland ran its second annual online conference on September 28-30 – and it was a proper extravaganza.

Featuring guest speakers, supplier product launches, FFI Supplier of the Year Awards and unique supplier trade deals, the event saw numerous new stars step up to the webcam to deliver their key messages.

And thanks to some nifty camerawork by roving reporter Nigel Johnston and his team, we also got a welcome insight into life in the shop and on the forecourt, as conference viewers got to watch a series of fascinating video store profiles straight from the check-out.

Food Force Ireland Jonathan Crawford said the conference relays how important members, suppliers and Food Force are to the communities they serve.

“We’ve had terrific challenges this year with product shortages. We’ve been making representations at ministerial level over our concerns regarding the Northern Ireland Protocol and although it hasn’t entirely gone away, we hope we’ll be able to find a solution that is a positive one, for these national supply chain disruptions only further enhance the important link that we have with our community.

“It’s important to remember that national supply issues affect our UK multiple competitors much more than us, giving us opportunities to provide Northern Ireland consumers when others can’t.

“It’s an important time to support our local suppliers who supported us in the worst times of Covid. They will continue to be our strength as disruption continues, so please get busy with the order forms.”
