Nearby Wilson’s and the Treat Bar celebrated their fifth birthday in the heart of the local community.

After five years of success, store owner Leigh-Ann Wilson reflected on how far she has come by thanking her loyal customer base with a fifth birthday celebration.

“To see the growth in the last five years from not only my store but within my community as a whole has been fantastic,” said Leigh-Ann.

“Our store is a cornerstone of the community, and I wanted to recognise that by giving back to my loyal customers for their continued support. And of course, this would not be possible without a strong, forward-thinking Nearby Symbol Brand behind me.

The fifth birthday celebrations played host to many, including Q Radio and the Q Man, Gather and Grace catering, the Nearby team, who came armed with 300 goodie bags for kids and adults, Treat Box giveaways, mega offers, and a whole lot of energy.

Nearby Wilson’s and the Treat Bar have been on the journey with the Nearby brand from when it first launched over four years ago. Since then, the store has seen significant growth through footfall and sales under the Nearby symbol.

Supported by S&W Wholesale, Nearby’s wholesale partner, helps Wilson’s offer a full range of fresh, frozen, and impulse products to provide choice to their customers. Wilson’s also specialises in ice cream, milkshakes, and American sweets, really providing that one-stop shop in the community of Ballyclare.

One of the pillars of the Nearby brand is ‘Community’, which is all too apparent when you visit Nearby Wilson’s. This is further backed up by the team’s Brand Marketing Assistant, Danielle Murphy.

“At Nearby, we thrive on seeing our retailers grow within this competitive industry, and to be able to give back to them and their community by organising events big or small, really shows how the Nearby brand represents more than just a brand or a store, it represents  family and community, which was evident through the event,” said Danielle.

Throughout the day, kids and adults enjoyed special giveaways including Nearby branded lunch boxes and water bottles in preparation for Back to School, whilst the adults enjoyed a Treat Box, including vouchers for the store, encouraging returning customers. Nearby goodie bags were filled with products from S&W Wholesale suppliers, including: KP Snacks, Fox’s Maryland Cookies, and Suntory Lucozade Sport drinks, and much more.

Surrounded by family and friends Nearby Wilson’s and The Treat Bar enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon topped off with a surprise presentation of cake and flowers from S&W’s Chief Sales Officer, Michael Skelton and Business Development Manager, Chris Williams.

The celebrations continued right throughout the weekend and fittingly finished with Wilson’s being announced as a finalist in this year’s Neighbourhood Retailer Awards for Store of the Year.
