Established in 1962, Nicholl Oils has grown to become one of Northern Ireland’s largest independent oil distributors, by providing competitive prices and a reliable, dependable service.

Today, more customers than ever trust Nicholl to deliver on quality and price.

Hugh and Loreen Nicholl set up the family-owned company back in 1962 and marked its 60th anniversary with a special celebratory event at the Everglades Hotel in October with over 250 of their family, friends, staff, customers and suppliers.

And the celebrations continued for Hugh and Loreen as they were given the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Neighbourhood Retailer Awards, honouring their success in the last 60 years.

Over those 60 years they have overseen some huge changes in the company, including the growth of the branded retail network and opening new sites, notably those of their Auto365 network.

As a company, Nicholl is committed to reaching Net Zero carbon emissions, fulfilling its share of the responsibility to keep the global temperature rise below 1.5 degrees, and is proud to be Northern Ireland’s leading importer and distributor of Renewable Fuels.

At the gala awards night, held in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Belfast at the end of October, Hugh and Loreen Nicholl were praised for the work they have done to grow and expand the company and make it one of the leading fuel companies in Northern Ireland.

Now in their 26th year, the Neighbourhood Retailer Awards reward excellence, recognise achievement, raise industry standards and reward entrepreneurial spirit.

Many of those in attendance on the night had high praise for Hugh and Loreen, including Peter Batt, Managing Director of award sponsor, Nisa Retail.

“It was a real honour for me to be there in person to present the award to such deserving winners. Many congratulations on such a fantastic accolade,” said Peter.
