McBride’s stores raise £8,300 for Marie Curie

McBride Retail Group is celebrating after raising £8,300 for Marie Curie during the 2019 Blooming Great Tea Parties that were held across the group’s 12 stores in counties Tyrone, Armagh and Fermanagh.

The Blooming Great Tea Party is an annual initiative organised by the palliative care charity, where communities are encouraged to come together and enjoy a tea party while raising money to support the work of Marie Curie.

Peter McBride from the McBride Retail Group said; “Once again our staff and shoppers have gotten behind this year’s Blooming Great Tea Party and in doing so, have raised a phenomenal amount of money in just a few hours across our network of stores.

“I’m grateful to each member of the team who helped us put together such fantastic events and want to say thank-you to our loyal shoppers who always turn up and give back with such generosity. We’re proud to have raised this total for such an important charity that supports so many people in our local community.”

Conor O’Kane, Senior Partnership Manager at Marie Curie in Northern Ireland added; “Marie Curie relies on support from local teams to help us continue to provide care for our communities and McBride’s Retail Group should be commended for their fundraising efforts.

“We know how much time and effort goes into organising fundraising events so we are very grateful to everyone who organised or attended a Blooming Great Tea Party event in support of Marie Curie.”
