NI’s first security expo to demonstrate key facial recognition facility for retailers

Northern Ireland’s first security expo will take place next month, and will showcase exciting developments in physical and cyber security for all retailers.

Hosted by Omagh business, JMK Security the expo will be held on Friday 10th May at the Silverbirch Hotel in Omagh.

The first expo of its kind in Northern Ireland, the event will showcase electronic and cyber security, the latest CCTV and alarm technology, construction site security, facial recognition systems and body cameras.

Director of JMK Omagh, John McKenna told NR there will be a host of expert speakers from the industry, as well as live demonstrations on show throughout the day.

“We will have different companies present for visitors to speak to, including our monitoring partner company, Resure,” said John.

FACIAL RECOGNITION

Resure monitors alarm and forecourts for out of hours times or if the site is fuel-only without a shop.

Cyber Security company, Loughtec will also be present to give shopkeepers advice about cyber security for back offices and shop wifi networks.

“We will have speakers from the manufacturers, monitoring company and some clients giving recommendations and their thoughts on the systems they have installed.”

In a critical development for retailers, they will have facial recognition on show at the expo.

The Unauthorised Person Detection System involves locating a camera at the entrance to the store, which will then trigger an alarm or send notifications to shop managers and owners of someone who has entered the store who has previously shoplifted or drove off without paying for fuel.

Demonstrations will be taking place throughout the day, enabling retailers and store managers to see the equipment at work.
