Neighbourhood Retailer Awards deadline extended

Haven’t entered the Neighbourhood Retailer Awards yet? Don’t panic. There’s still time.

The deadline for entries is now the 28th June.

The Awards have established themselves as the focal point in the calendar for the grocery industry and the highlight of the year.

This year we’re inviting you to go for it, as we celebrate the best in the industry and look back over another very successful year in the sector. With 19 unique award categories attracting over 500 retail entries annually, it’s a night you don’t want to miss.

But don’t just take our word for it.

Here’s what Breige Finnegan, senior brand marketing manager of Moy Park, had to say: “The awards really signifies independent retailers in Northern Ireland. If you’re not here, you’re not apart of this whole community. It’s a fantastic event to be at, and we definitely consider it to be one of the most important award ceremonies in Northern Ireland.”

To make it even easier, we’ve compiled a list of tips to ensure you’re entry is noticed by the judges.

  1. Ensure you complete the whole application

It may sound simple, but double check you have answered every question in the entry form and make sure that all contact details have been entered correctly.

  1. Send in relevant photographs

Submit photography visibly showing the category you are entering. For instance, if you are entering into categories such as deli and fresh food send photographs that show off how amazing your food-to-go is.

  1. Be prepared for mystery shoppers

Be prepared to receive mystery shoppers from the moment you enter the awards. Let your staff know so that they can be vigilant and provide the best customer service possible at all times.

  1. Provide supporting materials

There is space on the application to provide links to your store’s social media accounts – don’t miss out on this opportunity to show off your business to the judges.

  1. Dazzle the judges

Be clear when stating how your business stands out from the competition. Try and list something nobody else is doing; judges want to hear what you do differently from everybody else!
