Retail NI mourn passing of former CEO
Retail NI has expressed its sadness at the death of former CEO Bryan Gray.
Mr Gray, who was 65, had been living in the Philippines with his wife Angelica, and three children. He passed away on Saturday 29 July from lung cancer.
He became chief executive of the NI Independent Retail Trade Association (now Retail NI) in 2000, remaining in post until 2008.
Responding to news of Mr Gray’s death, Retail NI chief executive Glyn Roberts said: “On behalf of the Retail NI Board and our membership as a whole, we extend our condolences to the family and friends of Bryan.
“Bryan made a huge contribution to the Retail, Hospitality and Manufacturing sectors. He played a key role in establishing NIIRTA/Retail NI, advancing our policy agenda and was a true champion for independent retailers.
“When I accepted the role of CEO, Bryan was immensely helpful in providing support and advice. He will be missed.”
Mr Gray was also chief executive of Manufacturing NI before his retirement in 2013, and former chief executive of the Federation of the Retail Licensed Trade in Northern Ireland.
