Retailers Help Refresh Runners
Local SPAR retailers have shown their support for this year’s 25th SPAR Omagh Half Marathon which takes place on March 29.
McGinn’s SPAR, Hamilton’s SPAR and McGirr’s SPAR in Omagh are donating a supply of sandwiches and refreshments for the big event which is expecting over 3,000 runners to take part.
This marathon event is now regarded as one of the most prestigious events in Ireland and the UK. In fact, runners travel from all over Ireland as well as some overseas participants due to the quality and stature of the Omagh Half Marathon.
The organising committee have planned something special to mark their Silver Jubilee and have produced a commemorative booklet to capture interesting photographs and stories of the race. This year’s recognised charity is the Down Syndrome society.
