Amazon executive takes on Nisa IT

An executive at one of the world’s largest online retailers is to take the reins of Nisa’s IT department.

The independent convenience retailer announced on Wednesday former Amazon software specialist Steven Cook will be its new head of IT operations.

Steven joins the business from Amazon where he held a number of senior IT roles, most recently as the UK regional IT manager.

“Steven brings significant experience to the role, having led teams in an operational environment for over 16 years,” a Nisa spokesperson said.

“His new role will comprise ensuring the continued development of a reliable IT infrastructure and support system, and the delivery of industry leading IT service across the business.”

Welcoming Steven to Nisa, Jon Stowe, Nisa operations director said: “We are really pleased that Steven is joining Nisa to further strengthen our excellent and experienced IT team as we embark on the development of a strategic review to ensure that our IT infrastructure continues to offer the very best support to the independent retailer”.

Speaking about his appointment, Steven Cook said: “I’m delighted to have joined the Nisa team and I’m looking forward to working closely with the business to continuously improve the IT services we provide to our members and the Nisa team.”
