ATM damaged and money stolen in burglary incident

Extensive damage was caused to commercial premises in Belfast when money was stolen from an ATM.

The incident occurred on Monday 13th July when a vacant commercial premises on the Falls Road was entered, damage caused to the ATM and money stolen.

Detective Inspector McCamley said police were still working to establish how much money was stolen.

“A door at the rear of the property had been forced open to gain entry and extensive damage had been caused to an ATM housed inside the premises in order to remove money,” said Detective Inspector McCamley.

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious on the morning of Saturday 12th July, particularly in the Shiels Street or Brighton Street area, to call police on 101, quoting reference number 679 12/07/25.”
