Ballymena shops targeted in weekend thefts

Retail premises were once again the targets for theft at the weekend.

There have been appeals for information following a number of shop burglaries in Ballymena town centre.

The incidents at a number of commercial premises in the County Antrim town occurred during the early hours of Saturday 30th August.

It was reported that at approximately 3am a male is believed to have broken the window of a shop front in the Broughshane Street area before entering the premises and making off with a drawer from the till.

It is also believed the same male entered another shop in the Larne Link retail site by smashing a window before making off with till drawers and a sum of money.

Detective Sergeant Marks said they were appealing for information.

“We are currently investigating a number of lines of enquiry in our efforts to identify the suspect and I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 355 of 30/08/25,” said Detective Sergeant Marks.
