‘Independent retail is at the centre of local communities’ – Allwyn
SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT
As the countdown begins to this year’s Neighbourhood Retailer Awards, platinum sponsor of the event, Allwyn, discusses the importance of celebrating Northern Ireland retailers.
With entries now closed for this year’s gala awards, judges have begun their independent process of assessing each of the entrants in their respective categories.
New operator of The National Lottery, Allwyn has come on board as platinum sponsor of this year’s Neighbourhood Retailer Awards, as well as category sponsors for the Community Store of the Year Award.
This year marks the 27th year of the NR Awards – the most prestigious awards night of the year and a major focal point for all retailers, brand owners, service providers and top executives.
Everyone now has marked the date for the gala awards dinner, taking place at the Crowne Plaza Belfast on Friday 18th October.

Ahead of this year’s awards, Alex Green, Director of Channel Operations, National Lottery operator, Allwyn said they were extremely proud to be sponsoring the Community Store of the Year Award.
“It means a great deal to us at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, to be able to recognise the passion and dedication shown by retailers across Northern Ireland, in supporting their local communities,” said Alex.
“We firmly believe that retail and local shops form a key part of any community, and this year’s nominated stores are testament to the support provided by retailers to communities up and down the country.
“Not only is independent retail at the centre of local communities, retailers are crucial to the enormous amount of good that The National Lottery brings to society. Since its launch in 1994, The National Lottery has generated a colossal £48 billion for National Lottery-funded projects across the UK, and this would not have been possible without the support of retailers selling National Lottery products in their stores day-in, day-out.
“We would like to wish all the entrants the best of luck on the night, and we’re looking forward to celebrating the fantastic achievements each and every retailer has shown through their continuous hard work,” he added.
Jenny Blogg, Operations Director, National Lottery Operator, Allwyn added they were thrilled to be the overall sponsor of this year’s awards.

“We’re really looking forward to celebrating the outstanding achievements and hard work of all the incredible retailers that have been nominated,” said Jenny.
“It’s been almost 30 years since the launch of The National Lottery and, throughout the years, our retail partners have been central to its success. Without the thousands of retailers selling tickets and Scratchcards in their stores, the amazing contribution that The National Lottery has provided to society and local communities would not have been possible.
“We’re looking forward to working closely with Neighbourhood Retailer to continue supporting retailers across Northern Ireland, and I’m delighted that we have this opportunity to recognise all the exceptional work of National Lottery retailers at this year’s awards.
“A huge congratulations to all the nominees and the very best of luck to all of the finalists on the night! We hope you have a fantastic time.”
