Launching a new product requires careful planning, consideration and a good strategy to stand out from the crowd, all of which this year’s New Product Launch of the Year winners brought to the table.

Scotts Crispy Onions were named winners of this category at the 2022 Neighbourhood Retailer Awards and said they were “thrilled” to win.

The judges for this category were very impressed with the campaign put together by Scotts Crispy Onions.

“The winner of this award detailed the process of developing a new product and introducing it to the market in an innovative and successful way,” they observed.

“They placed their customers’ needs at the heart of the process and have enjoyed significant success as a result of their well-planned initiative,” they added.

Jodie Scott, from Scotts Crispy Onions said everyone had “worked very hard” on the whole project.

“It meant so much to us as a team as everyone has worked very hard to develop this unique gluten-free product,” she said.

“It’s the first of its kind throughout the UK and Ireland and we pride ourselves in thinking from the customers’ point of view and how we can ensure our product is suitable for everyone.”

Independently judged by Spotcheck, the awards are judged to exacting standards over a three-month period.

Now in their 26th year, the Neighbourhood Retailer Awards reward excellence, recognise achievement, raise industry standards and reward entrepreneurial spirit.

“We thought the evening was a great success as a whole, as a lot of our own customers were represented and some were crowned winners,” added Jodie.
