SHS Group appoints Alan Neill as commercial director

The SHS Group has appointed Alan Neill as commercial director. Leading the SHS Sales & Marketing Ireland division, Alan will be responsible for planning and implementing commercial strategies for some of Ireland’s and the UK’s biggest brand owners and SHS Group’s owned brands. Deploying specialist skills from sales and logistics to customer services, finance and customer marketing, he will ensure that the Division continues to drive growth and maximise business efficiencies as one of Ireland’s leading outsourced sales and marketing providers.

Track record

Alan joined SHS Group in 2003 and has over 18 years of experience in different aspects of the business and its management.  He has held a variety of finance business partnering roles in SHS Sales & Marketing GB and SHS Drinks. More recently, Alan led the design, implementation and delivery of the SHS Group’s Business Transformation Project – Gazelle.

Alan is a Queen’s University Belfast graduate and completed his Accountancy qualifications with FitchCampbell.

Multinational operation

SHS Sales & Marketing Ireland has operational bases in Northern Ireland and Ireland. Founded in 1975, the SHS Group has evolved from being a traditional family-run sales and marketing company into a multinational operation that now employs over 1,000 people with a turnover of £570 million (€650 million).

Operating in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector in the UK, Ireland and internationally, SHS Group owns brands such as, WKD, Shloer, bottlegreen, Merrydown Cider, Meridian nut butters, Rocks squash drinks, Crucial Sauces, Zip firelighters and Maguire & Paterson matches.

It also distributes a portfolio of well-known brands including, Jordans, Ryvita, Pot Noodle, Finish, Mars Drinks, Terrys and Colgate. In addition, the Group is a market leader in the supply of own label herbs and spices in Great Britain and manufactures a range of branded and private label condiments and sauces.
