SPAR NI are supporting end of life charity Marie Curie this Christmas by selling exclusive face coverings in stores across the country.

This year has been challenging for many and the charity sector has taken a huge hit, with most fundraising events cancelled. However, Marie Curie nurses have continued to work on the frontline throughout the pandemic caring for people at end of life in the Belfast hospice and people’s homes all across Northern Ireland.

 Face coverings

Now, as we approach the festive season, SPAR NI is hoping their customers will buy a special face covering, branded with the iconic daffodil, to ensure Marie Curie Nurses can continue to support people with a terminal illness and their families.

Masks are priced at £3.00 and every single penny will go directly to Marie Curie.

Anne Hannan, Partnerships Manager at Marie Curie said“This year has been incredibly challenging, so the continued support from SPAR NI and their shoppers really means so much. We’re so excited about the exclusive facemasks, they look great and are very comfortable – the perfect stocking filler!

 Support families

“So, when you’re in your local SPAR store buying Christmas essentials, don’t forget to pick up a Marie Curie mask. The money raised will help support families in Northern Ireland impacted by death, dying and bereavement.”

Bronagh Luke, Head of Corporate Marketing at SPAR NI said “We have been in the fortunate position to remain open during the pandemic, and we have done everything we can to help our charity partners and community groups. Face coverings are essential in helping us tackle this virus, and we encourage everyone to please wear one when out and about this Christmas. It would make an even bigger impact if we were able to help our charity partner, Marie Curie, while also helping each other through this pandemic.

Frontline workers

“As frontline workers, we know how much of an impact the pandemic has had in our communities, and Marie Curie nurses have continued to provide their compassionate care throughout. We are very proud to be an official partner and to help fund the vital work they do for our neighbours.”
