In the almost 11 years since its establishment, Bells of Crossgar has become a vital part of the community.

Listening and responding to customer needs, the store has proven itself to be a much trusted and highly respected business which prides itself on being a true community store.

The last 12 months have seen some exciting developments and changes at the store, including a forecourt transformation to Texaco and the expansion of their off licence, and with his sights set on growth, owner Gabriel Bell has further expansion on his mind, aiming to bring yet more services and offerings to the local area.

With a team of 56 across the store, manager Darren Fitzpatrick said their aim is to create familiarity and provide consistency for their customers.

“We do pride ourselves on our customer service and being a community store,” said Darren.

“A lot of our customers are elderly and they really enjoy that interaction with our staff. There is that relationship and understanding that it’s more than just a shop.”

In the upcoming issue of Neighbourhood Retailer, we speak to Gabriel and Darren to find out more about the growth of the store in the last 10 years, and discuss the importance of moving with the times but not at the expense of losing your loyal customers.
