Lua McGinley, who moved to the county after meeting her husband Patrick, first came to Ireland three years ago to learn English.

She set up her business Doce Lua Cake (doce meaning sweet in Portuguese) last year, initially just supplying close friends and family between Enniskillen and Belcoo but taking orders from the public as demand took off.

“I’m Brazilian and have been living in Ireland for almost three years now, before I moved here I worked as a psychologist but I always loved cooking and making desserts for friends and family,” Lua said.

“I moved here to learn English, and the plan was to go back to Brazil after two years but then I met my husband and that was it.

“I started it in November last year and it spread from friends and family to getting bigger. I do cakes for all sorts of occasions, birthday cakes, wedding cakes, christening cakes.

“I get inspiration from where I live, it’s beautiful and there are lot of flowers and nature. Our house is in front of the lake so I find lots of inspiration from there.

“I want to make something that makes me happy, because if it’s good for me I will do it with love and passion, and put all my good energy into it.”
